Emily Randolph Silva, the dancer, choreographer, personal trainer, mother of two, and now the founder of Swell Body & Boutique, is determined to get you looking good and feeling good this year. Rolling two passions into one, she opened her boutique and body studio in September, bringing stylish new brands and a fitness workshop to Charlestown.
The boutique: This kind of retail shop really speaks to me. Since the space serves two purposes, there’s little room for excess. The clothing is streamlined and neatly dispersed between a handful of racks and a few tabletops. Brands are environmentally-conscious, artistic and comfortable, and both the kid’s clothing (ranging from baby to age 7) and women’s clothing hail from Brooklyn, Paris, Berlin, Stockholm and beyond. A few accessory lines are available at the register too, with colorful options for kids, mixed with whimsical necklaces, earrings and bracelets for adults. Read more about the brands here.
The studio: Silva offers personal training sessions in gyrotonic, gyrokinesis, pilates, yamuna body rolling, and TRX training. She may have a background in dance and choreography, but this is a boutique experience through and through—no bass bumping and group jazzercising. Instead, Silva provides one-on-one and duet training sessions only, allowing her to focus on individual needs. Learn more about Silva’s background, expertise, and rates here.
Silva’s sums it all up: “I believe that art, culture, and fashion are also essential to a full life, so fusing fashion and movement feels natural. Cultivating our best self, inside and out, is a universal goal.”
Start the new year off right, and get to know this great new addition!
